Funeral services for Mrs. Philip (Helen M.) Zimmerman, 71, were held at the Wilton United Presbyterian church May 23 with the Rev. Telford Dindinger officiating. Burial was in the Muscatine Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Zimmerman died at her home in Wilton May 20.
The daughter of Walter and Irma Connelly Smith, she was born at Iowa City Oct. 2, 1915. She was married to Philip Zimmerman at Rock Island, Ill. March 2, 1934.
She had taught 3rd grade at the Wilton Community schools for 20 years. She had also been a Muscatine county 4-H leader and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Presbyterian church and the Wilton Business and Professional Women.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Gerry, Muscatine; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Melanie) Gehrls and Mrs. Ralph (Peggy) Graf, Wilton; 7 grandchildren; her mother, Beloit, Wis.; a brother, Alan Smith, Durant; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Marge) Staack, Beloit; Bernice Sloan, Muscatine and Bertha Albu, West Palm Beach, Fla. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
