Funeral services for Lynn A. Burnett, 72, were held at First Church United, West Liberty, May 23 with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Burnett died at his West Liberty home May 20.

The son of John and Nellie Crees Burnett, he was born at Atalissa Oct. 8, 1914. He was married to Melva Deal at Davenport Feb. 26, 1940. They farmed in Cedar county until their retirement in 1978 when they moved to West Liberty.

Mr. Burnett was a member of First Church United and was an ordained ruling elder of the Presbyterian church, USA. He had been a member of the Muscatine County Board of Review, a former member of the West Liberty Board of Education and was a musician with the German and Polka Band of Cedar County.

He is survived by his wife; a son, the Rev. Gary Burnett, West Branch; a daughter, Sharon Forbes, West Liberty; 3 grandchildren and a sister, Margret Kesselring, Iowa City. He was preceded in death by a brother and a granddaughter.
