Clarence “Red” D. Lamb, 90, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Burgess Health Center, Onawa, Iowa.

Per Red’s wishes cremation has been accorded. A burial will be held at a later date in the Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Clarence Dwight was born May 16, 1934, in Moorhead, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Mary (Jerup) Lamb. He grew up in rural Moorhead, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1952 from Moorhead High School. Red served in the United States Army from October 23, 1956, and was honorably discharged October 10, 1958.

Red and Carmen Christiansen were united in marriage on October 27, 1972 in Elk Point, South Dakota.

He was a postal worker in Onawa, Iowa, where he delivered and served as clerk for many years, until his retirement.

Red had a passion for music. He played the accordion, fiddle, and the pump organ. Red played with many different musicians and enjoyed all his travels. He traveled to Denmark to receive a medal from the Danish National Music Organization, which resulted in subsequent music tours. Red was awarded a national fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts. Dwight has a channel on YouTube, and it can be found by searching Dwight Lamb. Also, he was in a short documentary titled “Dwight in Denmark.”

He served his community as mayor of Onawa for seven years. Red loved being around his friends, family, and dogs.

Survivors include his spouse, Carmen Lamb of Whiting, Iowa; children, Ralph (Barb) Skarin of Onawa, Iowa, and Ronnie (Barb) Skarin of Moorhead, Iowa; grandchildren, Freya Skarin, Elizabeth Wright, Reanna Skarin, Casey Skarin, and Benjamin Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Xander Skarin, Aidan Skarin-Conklin, Casey Skarin, Jr., and Alyce Skarin; nephew, Daniel Lamb of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary (Jerup) Lamb; son, Lonnie Lamb; brother, Virgil Lamb; and sister, Dorothy Hodges.
