James Jensen was born and raised in Castana, Iowa, the son of Maurice and Charlotte Jensen. After graduation from Iowa State University, Jim entered into farming with his father and brother.
The Jim Jensen family had its own start on July 28, 1973, when Jim married Wanda Gamet, formerly of Tekamah, Nebraska. Wanda was an elementary teacher at West Monona Community Schools in Onawa.
In June of 1974 the couple moved into the newly remodeled Merlin Davis farm home. Their family has expanded with the birth of Laura Marie on October 17, 1974 and David Ward on March 24, 1977.
