OSAGE, IOWA — Alma E. Kling, 89, of Osage, died Wednesday (Sept. 30, 1998) at the Faith Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage, with the Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage.

Alma E. Kling was born Aug. 24, 1909 on the family farm in Rudd Township, Floyd County.

Survivors include one son, Norman Kling, of Rudd; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Obert Nelson, of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one son.

Alma Estella Nelson was born August 24, 1909 at rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa to Oscar Bertinius Nelson and Etta Sophia Iverson, the oldest of their two children.

Alma was baptized on September 26, 1909 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr. & Mrs. Albert Oscar Nelson; Olga and Amos Lundene. She was confirmed at RCLC on May 13, 1923.

Alma married Alvin Louis Kling on April 16, 1933 at her parent's farm in rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa.

She and Alvin had two sons: Norman and Keith Louis (b June 3, 1946, d September 26, 1997 Iowa).

1915: Alma E Nelson age 5.
1920: Oscar B Nelson 38, Etta Nelson 37, Alma Nelson 10, Obart Nelson 4 yrs 11 mos.
1925: Oscar B Nelson 44, Etta S Nelson 42, Alma E Nelson 15, Obert E Nelson 9, Alphonso Wright 19.
1930: Oscar B Nelson 49, Etta S Nelson 48, Alma E Nelson 19, Obert E Nelson 14.
1940: Alvin L Kling 39, Alma E Kling 30, Norman A Kling 5.

Alma E. Kling died September 30, 1998 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
