SOME NOTES REGARDING FRANK CERNY AND FAMILY:
1. Found Frank and Mary Cerny in the London Cemetery, Freeborn County in Minnesota.
2. Frank Cerny, born June 10, 1829, died March 16, 1897 the little article on the Memorial says.
Born in Medovy Ujezd, Bohemia, son of Jakub Cerny and Veronika Stokrova, wife to Mary Mudra, father of 14, 9 of whom survived to immigrate with him in 1882 to St. Ansgar, Iowa. His descendants live all over the U.S. and Canada.
3. Mary Cerny: Have Mudrova for her maiden name: September 13, 1834 (her obit says 1832), and died February 26, 1911.
The article on her memorial says: Marije 'Mary' Mudrova was born in Syra, Bohemia and married Frantisek Cerny in Bohemia (possibly Medovy Ujezd). She was the daughter of Frank Mudra and Ewa 'Eva' Zajicek and the mother of 14, 9 of whom survived to immigrate to St. Ansgar, Iowa. Her descendants live all over the U.S. and Canada.
4. Their son, Jan "John" Cerny 1854-1931, who is buried in the Oakwood, Austin, Mower, Minnesota Cemetery. (This is the father of John Frank Cerny born August 21, 1883 who is buried in St. Ansgar Cemetery.)
The article says: Born in Medovy Ujezd, Bohemia, John immigrated about 1878 to the U.S. where he married and raised his family. Son of Frantiseck 'Frank' Cerny and Marije 'Mary' Mudrova, husband to Emma L. Kombertz, father of 9.
5. His Wife: Emma L Kombertz, December 1864, New York --- April 1956, Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa (also buried in Oakwood).
On her memorial it says: A native of New York, NY, Emma was the daughter of Antoine Kombertz and Mary, wife to Jan 'John' Cerny and the mother of 9.
6. Vaclav's obit says his step-brother was Anton Kombertz.
