On June 1st we carried a notice of the marriage of Miss Alice Whetstone on that day. The following is the account of the wedding as clipped from the Casey
Vindicator."A wedding of interest to this community was that of Miss Alice Whetstone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Chas. H. Whetstone to Mr. Marion R. Soults, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Soults of Clarion which took place at noon on Thursday, June 1, at the home of the bride's parents in the presence of a few relatives and close friends.
Just preceding the ceremony, Miss Alberta Cochrane of Williamsburg sang "I Love You Truly." As the brideal party entered the room, Miss Louise Cochran, also of Williamsburg played Mendelssohn's Wedding March. The Rev. R. R. Mosher of the Casey Methodist church performed the ring ceremony in front of an altar of mock orange blossoms. Miss Ester Whetstone, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mr. Maurice Soults, twin brother of the bride groom servedf as best man.
The bride wore a gown of white satin and lace with a tiny cap of lace and a tulle veil and carried a shower bouquet of white roses. The maid of honor's dress was of peach mousselin de soie with a hat to match and a bouquet of peach roses and snapdragons.
Just after the ceremony a two course luncheon was served.
The bride is a graduate of the Casey high school and of the home economics department of Iowa State College. For the past four years she has been teaching honme economics in the public school at Eddyville.
Mr Soults attended Iowa State College at Ames and has since been farming near Clarion.
After a short wedding trip, the couple will live near Clarion, Iowa.
