Mrs. Martha M. Odneal, the wife of J. W. Odneal, was born near Winterset, Iowa and died at her late home in Caney, June 27, 1921, being 68 years and 3 months.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Odneal, December 4, 1870, and moved to a farm west of Caney 43 years ago, and thus has been among the earliest settlers in this community. In 1903 Mrs. Odneal united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Caney under the ministry of Rev. E. G. Coons, and has remained a member of the church until the time of her death.

The children coming into this home are all living and are with the husband left to mourn her death, the mother being the first one to leave this family circle after over a half of century of home life.

The children are as follows, and are all present at this time except Mrs. Maggie Hashbarger of Saunders, Ohio. The following are with the father in this his hour of sorrow. Mrs. Mollie Bowles, of Nash, Okla., Mrs. Minnie Spencer, of Loveland, Colorado, Mrs. Edith Bradley of San Bernardino, California, and Miss Edith Odneal of the home address.
