Earl “Junior” Allsup, 86, of Peru, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
He was born in Milo, Iowa, on September 1, 1938, the son of Earl Richard and Flossie Mae (Curtis) Allsup.
Junior married Joyce Walker on February 7, 1958 in Winterset; they were married for 62 years. They are the parents of two daughters, Vickey and Sherry.
Junior spent most of his life in Madison County. He was a dedicated farmer. He also worked as a mechanic and worked at Farmer’s Coop.
He enjoyed farming, watching the girls in school and 4-H activities, and camping. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Vickey (Ike) Davis; grandchild, Lucas (Stephanie) Johnson and Kari Davis; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cameron (Alexandra), Anna, Carli, Elisia, and Ambros; sister, Fern Douglas; and special friends, AJ (Cheyenne) Jones and their children, Keegan and Kayslee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; daughter, Sherry Hutchison; grandchild, R.C. Johnson; brothers, James Allsup, Robert Allsup, and infant brother, Guy Richard Allsup; and sisters, Helen Marie Cooper and Margaret Ann Jurgensen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
