A Celebration of life Service for Charlotte Ann Shuey, 82, of St. Charles, Iowa, who passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, surrounded by her family, will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Visitation will be held prior to services starting at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in the Decatur City Cemetery, Decatur City, Iowa.
Charlotte Ann Lemonds was born April 14, 1942 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Morris Vern and Lenna Fern (Frazier) Lemonds. She was born the fourth of six children. Charlotte graduated high school in 1960 from Central Decatur High School in Leon, Iowa. She served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1962 when she was honorably discharged. She was united in marriage on March 11, 1972 to Glen Eugene Shuey.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Marty (Curt) Robertson; granddaughter, Tiffany (Chris) Bucy; great-grandchildren, Joey Bucy and Lainey Bucy; sister, Sally (Ed) Crall; brother-in-laws, Robin Mecham and Randy Gatton; sister-in-law, Delores (Mickey) Norman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Shuey; parents, Morris and Lenna Lemonds; grandson, Ryan Freeman; siblings, Ruth (Gene) Noftsger, Rose Mecham, Louie (Joanne) Lemonds, and Linda Gatton; sister-in-law, Mary Shuey; brother-in-law, Larry (Ann) Shuey; and her beloved dog, Maggie.
Charlotte was a sports fan. She loved watching any kind of sport, but loved watching her Green Bay Packers. She loved crafts, crocheting, reading, doing puzzles and watching old western movies. Charlotte had a strong faith and loved her church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved shopping trips with her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials, in honor of Charlotte, may be given to the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles.
