Lois Kimberley, 89, was born September 21, 1924, to Earl and Effie Foster in Des Moines, Iowa. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 15, 2014.
Lois graduated from Lincoln high school and spent most of her life on the family farm near Farrar. She was a member of Saylorville Church and attended Capital City Church. Lois loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible. She enjoyed Big-Band music, dancing with our dad the love of her life, baking cookies and cakes and watching sports.
Lois is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Mumford, Rick (Martha) Kimberley, and Bill (Tonya) Kimberley; daughter-in-law, Shannon Kimberley; grandchildren, Kimberley (Gary) Henderson, Paul (Denise) Mumford, Grant (Natalie) Kimberley, Laura (Jason) Steidler, Justin (fiancée, Jessica Carnahan) Kimberley, and Jenna (Brian) Bann; great-grandchildren, Christy (Ryan) Waters, Adam Henderson, Wyatt Henderson, Brooke Mumford, Austin Kimberley, Jordon Steidler, Carson Steidler, and Sierra Steidler; and her great-great-grandson, Logan Waters. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Boyd Kimberley husband Chuck Hitchcock; great-grandson Matt Henderson; sisters, Helen Frankhauser and Arlene Haggar; as well as an infant brother, Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Capital City Church, 5990 NE 14th Street, with burial to follow at Peoria Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
The family would like to thank Mill Pond Care Center for the loving care given to Lois.
