Donald J. Crane, 42, Atlantic World War II veteran and insurance agent, died at 3:20 Monday afternoon at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health the last nine months and hospitalized for 4 ˝ months, entering the hospital here last week.
Mr. Crane was born at Lorimor Jan. 11, 1924, the son of Glenn and Erma Roe Crane and was graduated from the Atlantic high school in 1942. He was married to Marjorie Jensen at Maryville, Mo. Dec. 16, 1942 and served in the Marine Corps during World War II. They resided in Atlantic and in Council Bluffs eight years, returning here to make their home in April, 1963. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and resided at 104 ˝ East Twelfth street.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Kenneth of Atlantic and Gary, a student at Northwest Missouri State college in Maryville; two daughters, Peggy and Judy, at home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Crane of Atlantic; a brother, Bob Crane of Denver and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. G. A. Krengel officiating and burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery. The remains will be taken from the Meyer funeral home to the church Wednesday morning and the casket will not be opened at the church. Prayer service for relatives will be held at 9:45 in the parish center.
