Charles Olson Gordon, 87, of Winterset, passed away on January 20, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Charles was born on September 29, 1937 to Charles and Bronna (Hart) Gordon in Winterset. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1956, and spent most of his lifetime in Winterset. He served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959.

Charles married Alla Jean Churchill on June 5, 1958 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
He was a monument setter for Des Moines Winterset Monument Company for 27 years, and his hobbies included camping, fishing, and woodworking. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Charles is survived by his sons, Duane Gordon and Steve (Lisa) Gordon; his grandchildren, CW (Brooke) Gordon, JD (Maddy) Gordon, Nicholas Gordon and Brittany (Brett) Hadley; his great grandchildren, Benny Gordon, Tommy Gordon, and Clay Gordon; and his special kitty, Itty Bitty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bronna Gordon; his wife, Alla Jean Gordon; his brother, Forrest Hall Butler; and his sister, Mildred Schirm.

A visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. The funeral service with military honors will be Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:30 am, also at Caldwell Parrish, Winterset Chapel. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
