Dear mrs. Thorson Little,
Our great-grandmothers halfbrother was a mystery till I found him in Ellis Island's database.
And now, I understand, he was farming at Larchwood and Centennial. Google Maps helped me to find these places.
Hendrikus (Driek, Driekus or Henry) Dings (or Deings) was born at Swalmen, province of Limburg, the Netherlands (=Holland) at 29.05.1851, catholic. He definitely returned to the Neth. in perhaps 1912 (or earlier) and died at Swalmen on 05.07.1932.A Henry Deings, perhaps the same person, arrived at Ellis Island at Jun 14 1904 with ss (steamship) Rotterdam from Rotterdam. This man is US citizen and married.
1. Was Henry married at jun 14 1904? And US citizen?
2. With who did he rent land?Thank for your attention,
Gé Joosten, Amsterdam
