Page 1Wm Biggs passed away last Friday evening after a few hours illness at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. J. Bishop, much to the surprise of Wapello people. He was taken sick about 5:30 on the streets with what was pronounced heart failure and was taken to the home of Mr. Bishop, where he passed away without regaining consciousness. The deceased was born in Wapello Sept. 3, 1871 and he had resided here continuously since that time with the exception of a few years service in the U. S. army during the Spanish- American war in the Philippines.
He leaves to mourn his death his aged mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Biggs, with whom he made his home, and five sisters, viz: Mrs. Millard Hicklin, Mrs. W. J. Bishop, Mrs. Norman Marshall, Mrs. Wm. Fitzgibbon, all of Wapello and Mrs. Allen, of Van Wert, Iowa. The funeral services were held from the home of his sister, Mrs. Millard Hicklin, Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. W. A. Longnecker, with interment in Wapello cemetery.
