Page 4Samuel Lambert, a well known resident of Columbus Junction, passed away early last Thursday morning after an illness of several weeks. He was aged 83 years, 9 months and 21 days. Deceased was born at Brownsville, in Fayette county, Pa., Oct. 28, 1831. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Blair and while a young man came west and located in Missouri. About 25 years ago they moved to Chariton and Feb. 16, 1910, they moved to Columbus Junction, where they have resided since.
Besides his aged wife, he is survived by one son, Millard Lambert of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. J. D. Watteman of Columbus Junction. one child died in infancy; one daughter, Ida, died after she had reached young womanhood; a son, John, died at the age of 27 and their daughter, Mrs S. B. Thompson passed away at the Junction only a few months ago. He also leaves two brothers, Park Lambert, residing in Pennsylvania and Beeson, of Columbus Junction. A short funeral service was held at the home at 4 o'clock last Thursday afternoon and Friday morning the remains were shipped to Chariton for interment.
