Page 4After a brief illness Thomps P. Ashby passed away at the Edward Ashby home Sunday evening about 6 o'clock. He had not been feeling well all day, complaining of having a severe pain in his side. The family were spending the day at the Tomps Keever home and shortly after dinner he went to the Ashby home, where he was taken seriously ill and when he was found by his brother, Harve, was suffering great pain and passed away before a physician could arrive. The body was brought to the Carter undertaking parlors, where a post mortem was held by Dr. Bolding and Ditto, and it was found that he had died from an acute attack of peritonitis and other complications.
Thomps P. Ashby was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Ashby and was born in Jefferson township May 16, 1894 and was aged 21 years, 1 month and 18 days. He had spent his entire life in this community. he is survived by his parents, grandmother and one sister, Alma, two brothers, Harve and Fred, three uncles and many other relatives. He was converted and untied with the M. E. church last winter. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was of a quiet disposition and industrious habits and enjoyed the warm friendship of ll who knew him. The funeral services were held from the M. E. church Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. W. Cannon. Interment was made in the Mallory cemetery - Oakville Sentinel.
