Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Hankins, in Cedar township, occurred the death of Samuel B. Snyder, a veteran of the civil war, following a serious illness of a week from paralysis. Mrs. Snyder was a brother of Captain Abram Snyder, who at the time of his death ten or fifteen years ago was sheriff of Muscatine county. He was a member of Company F. of the thirty-fifth Iowa and of the Shelby Norman Post of Letts. Just a week ago the deceased man was stricken with paralysis upon rising from the dinner table and his condition had been serious since.

He was a successful farmer since the civil war, having resided for many years of the farm which his daughter now occupies. His wife passed away a number of years ago. At the time of his death he was sixty-eight years of age. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio. Besides his daughter, two sons mourn his death, Jacob and Leo Snyder of Muscatine. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock at the Christian church near Cranston. The Rev. R. Boyce had charge of the services.
