Josiah Fry, a well known resident of Muscatine county, passed away on Saturday evening at his home, three miles northwest of Letts, Ia. His death was of tragic unexpectedness. He was in the yard surrounding his rural home, when he suddenly pitched forward and expired. Hid death was due to heart disease. He has been in poor health for some time, a complication of diseases weakening his constitution. He is survived by his wife, one son, Rolla, of near Letts, and three daughters, Mrs. J. Epperly, of Roseberg, Idaho; Mrs. F. A. Runyon and Mrs. Elmer Furnas of near Letts. Also his brothers, Cyrus Fry, of Muscatine and John Fry of Burlington.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 o'clock p. m. in the Methodist church in Letts and interment made in the Letts cemetery. On Sunday morning when the members of the family were assembled, word was received that a sister of decedent, Mrs. Mary Harvey, had also died at her home at Marne, Ia.
