BIG DAY AT THE PORT
Great Crowd of Visitors Gather To See Sights at pumping station over at Port Louisa. The plant was working full blast and at the same time a sand pump was completing the task of covering the huge outlet pipes. All roads leading to the Port were filled with automobiles, buggies, and carriages bound for the plant to see the sights. Four hundred and fifty persons from near and far registered there as visitors Sunday and there were many who did not do so, and it is estimated that over five hundred people were there Sunday. Many people took along their kodaks and secured interesting pictures of the plant and its surroundings.
The sand pump which was operating outside of the plant in the river attracted a great deal of attention as at times it would strike a school of fish, mostly carp, and pump them up onto the land.
Children from that neighborhood were right on hand to capture them as they came out to the pipe and it was great fun to watch them scramble for the fish.Next Sunday there will probably be as large a crowd there again for there is always something of interest to see and learn and it is certainly an ideal place for an outing.
