The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 3, 1890

Capt. George Greene of Cedar Rapids has been elected Colonel of the First Regiment of Iowa Militia. Company E. of this city voted solid for Captain Greene. It was a close call for the Captain–but he got there, though by only one majority.
