I have been doing a lot of research on this for the last 30-40 years. I'm too am a direct descendant to W.A.Adams through C.N.Adams. Maria's maiden name was Nailer. W.A. Adams is descended from John Q Adams and Susannah Hart. My tree is public at Ancestry https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tree/3741733/family
I have done a DNA test and have links to a descendant of Sophia Adams, W.A.s Sister, so I feel fairly confident.
