In Response To: Albert Hagen (Vickie Kronlage)

Further research into Albert Hagen, son of John and Elizabeth Hagen of Lee Co., found that he did not come over from Germany when the rest of the family did.

Info stated in my original message that Albert along with his step-brother Charles Findeis both of New Boston, IA had attended their father's funeral in Cripple Creek, Colorado was incorrect.

My source came from the Cripple Creek Times of Cripple Creek, Co December 28, 1920 came from very old and hard to read micro film.

Further research with the help of the only male living Hagen male relative turned up a postcard sent back home to Elizabeth and family came from step-son Carl Findeis and son Frank Hagen. The very hard to read intials in the news article were that of Frank and not Albert.

I was also told by this living Hagen relative that Albert was in the German Army and was killed in action between 1914 and 1918.

Does anyone know how to find info about fallen German Army War Soldiers during that time period? If so please e-mail me.

Again sorry that my first posting of Albert was incorrect. Still learning and digging deeper in my research.

Sincerely,
Vickie
Iowa
