Marriage/Birth Record 1883

My great grandparents were living in Centerville in Appanoose County prior to their marriage. There exists no marriage record for them there. Their first daughter, Bertha Elmina Hall was born in Keokuk, IA January 7, 1883, and they had lived at Fort Madison according to her obituary. My great grandmother, Minerva Frances Bevard, was 16 at the time of her marriage to my great grandfather, William Arthur Hall, who was 34 at the time. I am assuming that they married sometime in 1882 in Lee County prior to the birth of their eldest daughter in January of 1883. Can anyone give me any insight in finding this marriage or birth record in Lee County, if it does indeed exist. I can be reached at canoecarver@aol.com directly.
