Aaron Miller, according to the 1880 History of Keokuk County, was the county's first settler.
I am looking for other Miller family researchers who have done extensive work on the family tree of descendants of Aaron MILLER.
In the 1850 Keokuk county census, Aaron is listed on page 240 with wife Sarah and 2 of their many children. On the same page are enumerated son William with wife and children and in yet another household son Joseph, his wife Sarah and son John W.
Joseph, Sarah A. and son John are enumerated in Montrose Twp., Lee county with two more sons, Jeriel and Joseph in the 1854 and 1856 census. It is this family I'm particularly interested in. I've not been able to locate any of them in the 1860 Federal Census.
I believe Joseph and Sarah could be the great-great-grandparents of my wife through a daughter born in 1864. DNA matches from son Jeriel/Jerile/Jarile descendants make him the only family member I've been able to trace with certainty. The trail of Joseph and Sarah Ann disappears after 1856.
I would very much appreciate hearing from those who might have also research this MILLER family.
P.S. Hoping to also find a marriage record for Joseph and Sarah ____ Miller to hopefully learn the maiden name of Sarah. In 1850 Keokuk County census, he was age 24, Sarah only 16 and their first son John, age 3.
