So far it looks as though their name was Paul Henry Paulsen. the 1910 "History of Jones County" Iowa, page 305 has a history on the elder Paul as Paul Jr. was born c.1902 in Scotch Grove. Paul Jr. was living in Madison township for the 1925 census. Also, on this web site there is a short bio on the elder Paul you seek here:

Then, the WPA shows in Wyoming Cemetery in Madison twp. : Paul Paulsen 1865-June 2, 1949 and wife Mary (Marie Dorothea) Sckelberg 1864-January 30, 1940 - both born Germany.
