Guy M. Voorhies was my great uncle. It was always my understanding that M. stood for Merritt; unofficially I have found that he married Odessa Reed 18 January 1930. I know they lived on a farm near Palo and later in Hiawatha, Iowa. They are both buried at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As I recall shortly after their divorce, his first wife moved to California and spent most of her life there until shortly before she died. She then moved to Arizona because that was where their only child, Fern, lived. She never remarried.
