I think you will have better luck looking for info in Kansas. They had moved there between 1870-1880 and show up on the 1880 Jennings, Decatur Co., KS census. They were in Jones County 1870 but prior to that??? There is a Theressa Henry age 66 in 1860 living in the George Powelka household at Oxford Twp and most likely related to Fannie and Bart but how and no other "Henry" listed for Jones County at that point.
Bart was born in Bavaria (Prussia) c.1830 and do see a Barthold Hinrichs born July 18, 1825 in Wilhelmsburg, Hannover, Prussia. Since you didn't give us any dates other than for the children nor where he died, can only guess that Bartholomew Henry is an Americanized version of the above name?
As for the Civil War record, you can look at the records online as others have mentioned.
The below link will help and I did a name search for the unit (457 names listed) you provided but his name did not come up. It does come up under various different spellings though including Hennrich, Hennerick, Hennerich, and Henerick, all with first name Bartholomew. Says he was a Private but has little info other than muster info is on Film M541, Roll 12. It does mention that this unit stared in Dubuque 1861.http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/regiments.htm
Hope that helps some?
