Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's church, Stone City, for Thomas J. Neilly, who died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1971 at Anamosa Community hospital. The Rev. Robert Ament conducted the services; burial was in Holy Cross cemetery, Anamosa. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Born Sept. 13, 1880 in rural Anamosa, he was the son of Thomas J. and Bridget Anglem Neilly. He was engaged in farming on the home place, where he lived all his life.

Survivors include a sister, Kate Neilly, at home, and a niece Virginia Neilly, who has made her home with them since she was one year old. Ten other nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Francis, Ann and Mary; and four brothers, John, James, Simon and Mike.

Pallbearers were Gene Flaherty, Daniel Fogarty, Gene Anderson, Junior Edwards, Lawrence Dauber and Donald Recker.
