John Knox Village, Lee'S Summit, MODorothy June Roberts Cramer, 90, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, in Sparta, WI. She was born June 21, 1922, to Mary Ethel (Blunt) Roberts, and William Murray Roberts, and she was raised on their farm near Rudd, IA. She graduated from Rudd H.S. in 1939, attended Mason City Jr. College, and transferred to Iowa State University, Ames, earning a B.S., in Home Economics Education, in 1943. Her early career years were spent as a home economics teacher and as the County Extension Home Economist in Delaware, Co., and also in, Benton, Co.
She married Loren Willard Cramer of Monticello, in Dayton, WA, on September 1, 1945. While living in Indianola, she served on the Warren Co. committees of the American Cancer Society and of the 4-H Girls Clubs. She judged 4-H exhibits at county fairs and at the Iowa State Fair and worked 23 years for the U.S. Army, at Ft. Des Moines. The Cramer's retired to John Knox Village, Lee's Summit, MO, in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three brothers. She is survived by her brother, Allen Roberts of Mason City, and her daughters, Lu Ann Lachnitt (Mark) Scafe of Sparta, WI, and Vickie (John) Strandberg of Overland Park, KS. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, IA.
