Scott Allen Stutzman, 63, of Iowa City, IA, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Scott was born on August 8, 1961, the son of Ralph and Carol (Moehler) Stutzman. Scott’s work was his passion. Scott worked as a procurement specialist for IAC and then later University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Scott's area of expertise was maximizing efficiency as evidenced in the software he created. Although Scott was sick the past two years, he continued to diligently work until November of 2024.

Scott was a self-taught man who excelled at building computers and software. He was always intrigued with new technologies, data, software development and a general intrigue for how things worked. Scott was also fascinated with astronomy and Sci-fi. That hobby turned into becoming an avid computer gamer and he enjoyed playing games like World of Warcraft, Diablo and Dungeons and Dragons. Most of all Scott enjoyed his summer family reunions and vacations. Scott was a simple man who did not require much outside of the love of his family.

Scott married Linda Calkins, his sweetheart of 33 years, in July 2015. Just last week, Scott said his greatest achievement was creating memories with wife.

Scott is survived by his wife, Linda Stutzman; four children, Carissa (Mitch) Engle of Corpus Christi, TX, Tanisha Black (Bryan Washington) of Dallas, TX, Dustin (Abby) Longwell of Iowa City, IA, and Danielle Longwell of Kelso, WA; nine grandchildren, Estella and Evelyn Engle, Nubia, Onyx and Nzuri Washington, Jacob and Alexis Longwell, Davin Hanson and Luke Cardinale and three kitty children, Calliope, Apollo, and Artemis.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shake at University of Iowa Holden Cancer Center, the staff on 4JP and Compassus Hospice who worked with insight and empathy.
