I found your query quite interesting.
I can share this about Daniel Stephenson
He was born July 12, 1823 in Huddersfield
Yorkshire England the son of Richard
Stephenson. His parents were here in
Jefferson County as early as the l850 census
and Daniel died l9 July l892 with burial here
in our Old Fairfield Cemetery.

I am a bookkeeper for a man 97 yrs old, not
related to Daniel. He owns two of them:
one is l857, red white and blue, and other
one is l870 which is creme and blue.
Katherine sold hers to a lady here locally. and
it is very pretty, in top notch condition.
There is another man here locally that buys
anything old at auctions, and not sure, but he
might have 3 of them.

Daniel had 7 children, but I cannot come up with
a name of a descendant.

Do tell me what year is woven into your
coverlet and the condition.

Also anxious to know where you live and how
you obtained it. Are you a relative?
(I am not) Verda Baird, corresp secy for
the Jefferson Co Gen. Society for 33 years,
now retired.
