I've tried to find something in the genealogy records held at the Fairfield Library to help you out but am not finding anything. The closest I can find to the McMillan surname is for a "Martin McMillan" listed in the 1850 US Census, living in Walnut Twp. here in Jefferson county. He was age 52 and his occupation was millwright.

Have you posted a query on the Van Buren County query board? They might have better luck finding something. Any additional details on the name and dates would be helpful. The W.P. could stand for a lot of name combinations ( were they male or female?), etc.
