* Once again there is the chaotic information on Isabell Nancy "Belle" Basford Campbell Brown Higgins....
From "Marriage Records in Sedgwick Co., Kansas":
Belle Higgins and Clemson C. Johnson
on 24 March 1919 (W034)If this is my ancestress, then this would be her fifth marriage!!! But interestingly, she died and was registered as Nancy Isabel Higgins on her death certificate and as Belle Higgins on a cemetery record.
* From this same source shown above, there is a marriage record for her daughter, Clara...
Clara Higgins and Charlie Tuell
on 30 September 1917 (U028)* This is a direct quote from the "Ottumwa (Iowa) Daily Courier" dated Monday, September 23, 1901:
Dudley Woman Dies. Was Daughter of Mrs. Belle Campbell of Ottumwa (This was a headline)
Dudley, Iowa, Sept. 23-(Special)-
The death of Mrs. Eva M. Roberts, wife of J.W. Roberts of this place, occurred at her home here last evening. She was a daughter of Mrs. Belle Campbell, 822 North Mechanic Street, Ottumwa. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11 o'clock from Columbia church. Interment will be made in teh cemetery of the same name.
(My note: This is the child of Belle's 1st marriage to William Basford. She was known by several names: Eva, Myrtle, Nancy Dells, Della. I see her middle inital here was a "M" which must be Myrtle) (also, this obituary notice was on page 1)
* On page 8 col. 6 of the same newspaper of that same date, it further gave some information on Eva M. Roberts....
Dies On Anniversary. Ottumwa Woman Passes Away On Twenty-first Birthday. (This is a headline)
At 9 o'clock last night, Mrs. William Roberts, wife of a well known Burlington switchman, passed away at her home in this city. A fact which makes the incident doubly sad is that yesterday was Mrs. Roberts' twenty-first birthday. Her remains was taken to Dudley this afternoon on Burlington passenger train No. 9 and the funeral services will be at the Columbia church near there. Interment will be in Columbia cemetery.
END OF THOSE QUOTES...
