Betty HOLT

FAIRFIELD -- Betty Fern HOLT, 58, of Fairfield, died 9:50 a.m. Nov. 27, 2002, at her home.

She was born April 8, 1944 in Jefferson County to William C. and Dema Ilene MORROW SCHULTZ. She married Dick MATHIAS. He preceded her in death. She married Nicky Charles HOLT Sr. Nov. 17, 1977.

She had lived most of her life in the Fairfield area. She had been a cook for M.U.M. University for two years and had worked at the Dew Drop Inn, Libertyville, for six years.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, William "Bill" MATHIAS of Fairfield and Richard Leroy MATHIAS of Ariz.; a daughter, Teresa Ann MATHIAS of Mitchellville; three grandchildren; four sisters, Joann HICKS of Fairfield, Donna POHREN of Lockridge, Susan CAULDER of High Point, S.C. and Sandy STANLEY of Kernerville, N.C.; five brothers, Elmer CARLSON of Fairfield, Wayne CARLSON of Burlington, Harold CARLSON of Fairfield, Don CARLSON of Arizona, and Daryl SCHULTZ of Chandler, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William SCHULTZ; and a sister, Bessie STEEL.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, with Rev. Ed. Parker officiating.

Visitation will begin at noon Sunday at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial has been established.
