George L. HOLM

George L. HOLM, 81, 404 S. Fourth St., died at 2:20 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1993, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church Community Room with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. The body has been cremated and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the American Diabetes Association. Behner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

HOLM was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Jewell, the son of Andrew and Johnana TENYSON HOLM. He married Celeste R. COOP on Jan. 13, 1948. She died Feb. 18, 1985. He had lived most of his life in Fairfield, and before that in Wyoming, Texas and New York. He owned and operated Holm's Bake Shop at 104 N. Main St. for 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of first United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, American Legion Post 47, IOOF 4, Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship and Boy Scouts of America Troop 64.

Surviving are three daughters, Donna Sue HENKEL of Des Moines, Pamela GOOD of Fairfield, Kathy BOX of Batavia; three sons, Dana A. of Omaha, Neb., Larry of Council Bluffs, Philip of Calmar; and seven grandchildren. Several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF GEORGE L. HOLM, DECEASED, WHO DIED ON OR ABOUT MAY 14, 1993:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 2ND DAY OF JUNE, 1993, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF GEORGE L. HOLM, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 13TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1987, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT KATHY BOX WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF THE ESTATE. ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN THE LATER TO OCCUR OF FOUR MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE OR ONE MONTH FROM THE DATE OF MAILING OF THIS NOTICE TO ALL HEIRS OF THE DECEDENT AND DEVISEES UNDER THE WILL WHOSE IDENTITIES ARE REASONABLY ASCERTAINABLE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ALL PERSONS INDEBTED TO THE ESTATE ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE UNDERSIGNED, AND CREDITORS HAVING CLAIMS AGAINST SAID ESTATE SHALL FILE THEM WITH THE CLERK OF THE ABOVE NAMED DISTRICT COURT, AS PROVIDED BY LAW, DULY AUTHENTICATED, FOR ALLOWANCE; AND UNLESS SO FILED BY THE LATER TO OCCUR OF FOUR MONTHS FROM THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE OR ONE MONTH FROM THE DATE OF MAILING OF THIS NOTICE (UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED OR PAID) A CLAIM IS THEREAFTER FOREVER BARRED.
