Matthew Wilken passed away Monday morning, March 13, at 7:30 o'clock. His daughter went to his room and hearing no response to her call entered his room and found him dead. He was born on the Island of Temer, March 11, 1843, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Wilker. he was 58 years of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Amalie Witt to which union was born one child, now Mrs. Fred Jungjohan, who with her mother are left to mourn; also four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the home, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services conducted by Rev. W. P. Sandrock. Interment was made in the Preston cemetery.
