Maquoketa, Ia., Oct 3 -- Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Harrison Codling, a well known long-time resident of Maquoketa, died suddenly at her home in the first ward about 9 o'clock Thursday morning, aged 74 years. She had been sick for some time, but was expecting to go to the home of her daughter at Mt. Vernon the last of this week to stay a while. Her maiden name was Anna Harrison. She was born in England and came to this country with her parents in 1850, coming to Maquoketa in 1851. Later she resided at Welton. With the exception of about two years spent in South Dakota a few years ago, she has resided in Jackson and Clinton counties for the past 63 years. She was married to Robert Codling who was a soldier in the civil war. She is survived by four sons: Frank, Will, Charles and Tom, and two daughters, Mrs. Sackrider in Oklahoma and Mrs. Otto Klinefelter at Mt. Vernon, Ia., and a brother, Henry Harrison of this city. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at her late home, with interment in Mt. Hope beside her husband.
