The couple relocated to Colorado in November 1969. Their daughter Kristin was born in April 1970. A year later, their son Kirk was born in April 1971. She also taught Sunday school and vacation bible school at church in Colorado.

Janet’s faith remained a pillar of comfort her entire life. Every day she read two chapters of the Bible, in addition to devotions, and the Portals of Prayer. Her faith was passed along to her children who were confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Lakewood, CO in 1985, and graduated from Denver Lutheran High School in 1989. Her daughter, Kristin, went on to become a Lutheran and Christian early education teacher and director. Her grandchildren went on to attend Lutheran and Christian schools.

Family was the second pillar of her life. She never missed an opportunity to speak with or visit her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her many stories of her family were told every chance she got.

Janet was a voracious reader, as well as enjoying knitting, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was seeing her kids and grandkids grow into faithful Christians, as well as their many and various school activities.
