(March 24, 1859 – May 21, 1941)Funeral Services Held Friday for J. J. Kennaley
Funeral services were held for the late J. J. Kennaley at Sacred Heart church Friday morning at 10 o’clock, with Friday morning at 10 o’clock, with Rev. Father P. M. Mattes celebrating requiem mass. Burial was made in the Catholic Cemetery. He passed away Wednesday, May 21. J. J. Kennaley was born near Garry Owen, Ia., March 24, 1859. He was a pioneer farmer and stockman. With his brothers he drove a covered wagon train from Kansas to Neola, Ia. in 1880.
Sick Few Years
Mr. Kennaley enjoyed unusually good health until the past few years. His four sons and three daughters attended him in his last hours. He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons and a daughter. Those surviving are, Mary and Frances Kennaley of Ida Grove; Mrs. Florence Speaker of Schaller; Leo of LeMars; Jerry Anthon; Ed, Danbury and David of Hot Springs, S. D. and 25 grandchildren. Those attending the funeral from out of town were, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kennaley and family, LeMars; Jerry Kennaley Jr. and sons, and James Kennaley, Mrs. Albert Forch, Anthon; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mcguire and Martin Leahy, Danbury; David Kennaley, Hot Springs, S. D.; Anna Tracy, Mrs. Jennie Tracy, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wentz, Salix and Mrs. Margaret Schriber and daughter, Moorland.
