Stork Knows Best – The stork was slow in delivering the first baby of the year to Ida Grove. In fact, the first arrival in the Ida Grove Hospital for 1949 did not arrive until Jan. 4. But the men won the race. The first baby born in Ida Grove was a boy [Kent Sutherland] and was the one Mrs. Wayne Sutherland of Schaller presented to her husband. The little rascal greeted the world at 7:38, Tuesday morning.
