OBITUARY.
Schoonhoven.
Mary E. McCloud was born in North Adams, Mas., July 11, 1842, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. C. Brown, near Cresco, Aug. 31, 1919, age 77 years, 1 month, 20 days.
When a child she came with her parents to Barrington, Ill. She was married in 1860 to N. W. Schoonhoven of Elgin, Ill., and nearly all the remainder of her life was spent in Elgin, where her husband died in 1891. Two years ago she came to Iowa and has ever since made hr{sic} home with Mrs. Brown.
She united with the Baptist church at Elgin at an early age and throughout her life she has lived a consistent and faithful Christian.
Mrs. Sshoonhoven{sic} was of alarge{sic} family of whom there are still living three brothers, Ralph McCloud of Granger, Fred McCloud of McIntire, Albert McCloud of Madison, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. C. C. Brown of Cresco, besides a great number of other relatives and friends.
A short service was held at the Brown home Monday afternoon where quite a number of neighbors and friends fathered, conducted by Rev. E. G. Copeland of Cresco. The remains were taken to Elgin where the funeral service was held on Tuesday and interment was made at Elgin by the side of her husband.
