OMAHA - Julia Ann Lloyd of Omaha, Nebraska, formally of Lime Springs, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home in Omaha.
Julia was born in Lime Springs, IA, on July 26, 1940 to Willard and Julia Schutte Lloyd. She was one of four girls born to this marriage.
She graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1958.
Julia moved to Des Moines, IA and went to the American Institute of Business and worked for Look Magazine. She also played basketball for them. She participated in softball for Greenwood Electric in Des Moines.
Julia resumed her education at John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, Nebraska, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in education. She taught for 34 years in Catholic schools in Omaha.
Julia spent her free time playing golf, puzzles, embroidering, watching sports, especially Nebraska, playing 31 and watching tractor pulling.
Survivors include her two sisters Joyce “Gene” Pisney of Lime Springs, Martha Rasmusson of Cresco, Iowa. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn, brother-in-law John Rasmusson.
A memorial service will be held on October 26 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs. The service will be followed by a celebration of life at the Lime Springs Community Center.Source: Cresco Times Oct. 14, 2024
