Your coordinator Janelle asked me to translate the stating of the database and I will try.
"Old portrait photos fascinates. In the 1860 it became popular also for commond people to visit the photografer and the small visit cards and bigger cabinet photos can be seen i almost every old photo albums. In "Porträttfynd" we collect scanned copies of those photos together with information about the photografer, his or her homestead and of course information about the people on the photo. (If they are identified)The idea is to save those old photos and at the same time get a chance to identified the people that today is unknown." The database started 1 october this year and today there are nearly 4000 photos. You can search for photos by clicking at one of the swedish districts if you know were your ancestors have lived or you can search for a place or a name in the box "sök". If you find an interesting photo you get information about who owns it today. (ägare) You can also write a comment to the photo. English is Ok, as nearly every swede understands it or have someone nearby who does.
