OBITUARY
Sarah Edalia Terry [sic] was born in New York state February 22nd, 1843, and died at the home of her son, Will Holt, northeast of Jewell, November 19th, 1911, at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Mr. Almon Holt October 19th, 1866, and to this union three sons and one daughter were born. The daughter preceded the mother in death passing away when but ten years of age. Some years ago this union was severed, when the husband and father passed away, and since that time Mrs. Holt made her home with her children, here and in Washington.
Mrs. Holt was always known and loved by hosts of friends for her beautiful Christian character and her true womanhood. She loved truth and righteousness and always stood ready to do her part in promoting good on earth. As a mother she was kind, gentle, and loving, always admonishing her children to high ideals. She gave her heart to God in girlhood days and was ever true and faithful. She was a charter member of the Christian church of Jewell.
Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Holt, three mile northeast of Jewell, at one-thirty o'clock Tuesday afternoon, November 21st, Rev. W. C. Cole, of Nevada, officiating. The casket was laden with beautiful floral offerings, significant of the esteem in which Mrs. Holt was held. The sorrowing family have hosts of friends who extend profound sympathy in their sad hour of bereavement.
