Nels Nelson* Passes Away.
Nels Nelson, a brother of Mrs. George Johnson* and Mrs. Berge Johnson, died Thursday of last week, April 6, at about nine-thirty o'clock. Mr. Nelson arrived here from Omaha about two weeks before his death and was cared for at the George Johnson home until his death. He was a very sick man when he arrived here and survived only a short time. The funeral services were held at one-thirty o'clock Saturday from the Danish Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Falck, and the body was laid at rest in the cemetery here, beside the remains of his father.
Mr. Nelson was born in Denmark March 13, 1853 and came to America 27 years ago. He has lived in Omaha for the past twenty-five years and had visited here only once for a couple of days shortly after arriving in America. He had no relatives in this country except the two sisters here, and came here when his end drew near.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The death record of this man calls him Niels Nielson. His sisters' (Else Marie Nelsen Johnson and Christina Nelson Johnson) death records state their maiden name was Nelsen. And this obituary names him Nels Nelson. I have indexed all variations.
"Mrs. George Johnson" was Else Marie (Nelsen) Johnson, wife of Søren Bonde “George” Johnson.
