OBITUARY
MARTIN T. LUND
Martin T. Lund was the son of Iver K. and Julia Lund. He was born near Jewell, Iowa, September 29, 1895, and lived in this community all of his life. He died at the Hamilton county hospital in Webster City at 5:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, Jan. 21, 1942, at the age of 46 years, 3 months and 22 days. He was ill for only a few hours, death resulting from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Lund was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul Lutheran church, northwest of Story City. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Julia Lund of Story City; two brothers, Irvin O. Lund and Lewis Lund both of Jewell; one sister, Amanda (Mrs. H. O. Scott) of Eldon, Iowa, and one foster sister, Mrs. Rex Ritchie of Eagle Grove; and four nephews, James, Jerome and Harry Scott of Eldon, and Robert Ritchie of Eagle Grove; two nieces, Mary Jane Lund of Jewell and Bonnie Lee Ritchie of Eagle Grove; and many cousins and a host of friends. Mr. Lund had been a life long member of the St. Paul church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, at the home at 1:30 and from the church at 2:00. A quartet, directed by Eugene Fardal, composed of Helmer Satre, G. O. Fardal, Truman Quam and Theo Hoversten, sang one song at the house and two at the church. Burial at the Story City cemetery. Memorial gifts totaled $66.00.
Mr. Lund made his home with his brother, Irvin, for a number of years. He was unmarried.
