Cormaney-Riley Wedding Solemnized

Hand dated June 9, 1935

A simple and impressive wedding took place Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Cormaney, north of Blairsburg, when their daughter, Dorothy Evelyn, became the bride of Mr. Harold Riley, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Riley, of Highview.

Promptly at 2 o'clock the bridal couple and attendants took their places as "Lohengrin's Wedding March" was being played by Miss Dorothy Manion, Proceeding the ceremony Miss Manion sang, "I Love You Truly," and while congratulations were offered, Miss Manion played "Moon Glo," and "When I Grow to [sic] Old to Dream."

The single ring service was read by A.E. Cormaney, father of the bride, who is an ordained minister in the Reorganized church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Little Miss Ladonna Mae Riley, niece of the bridegroom, carried the ring in the petal of a rose.

Attendants were: Miss Maxine Cormaney, sister of the bride, and Mr. Henry McCoskey, a friend of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Orville Riley, of Kamrar, was matron of honor.

The bride was dressed in a dress of powder blue silk crepe and lace, with white accessories, and carried an arm bouquet of roses.

Her attendant, Miss Maxine Cormaney, wore a frock of pink silk crepe.

Mrs. Riley was graduated from the Blairsburg high school with the class of 1932. She attended Iowa State Teachers college, at Cedar Falls, and since then has been teaching in the rural schools of Hamilton county.

Mr. Riley attended the public schools and has been engaged in farming the past few years.

Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Riley left for a short wedding trip to Missouri Valley, Whiting, and Sioux City.

Following the wedding refreshments were served by Mrs. A.E. Cormaney assisted by Mrs. Earl Bozells. The pink and white color scheme being further carried out in the menu.

Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Riley and grandsons Lyle and Russell, of Highview; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Riley and daughter, of Kamrar; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bozelle and daughter, Carlene, and son, Gerald, of Webster City; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klaver and Miss Dorothy Manion, of Blairsburg; Miss Thelma Warnich, of Williams; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bailey, and daughters, of Kamrar; Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Cormaney and son, Ronald, and daughter, Maxine, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cormaney, of Blairsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Riley will be at home to their friends at Highview, after July 1.

Harod Eugene Riley, 21, this city and Dorothy Evelyn Cormaney, 20, of Blairsburg.
