Bell-Robie Wedding is Solemnized at Home of Bride Near Blairsburg
Miss Lorene Bell, daughter of J.W. Bell, of Blairsburg, and Mr. Floyd Robie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Robie, of Galt, were married at the bride's home, north of Blairsburg, Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. Both young people are widely known over the county.
Single Ring Service.
To the music of "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin," the couple, accompanied by Miss Helen Bell as bridesmaid, and Mr. Millard Robie, as best man, took, their places before an improvised alter where they were met by the Rev. C.C. Hobson, of the Blairsburg Congregational Church.
He read the single ring service in the presence of a few friends and immediate relatives of the couple.
Preceding the service, Carol Bell, sister of the bride, sang "Because."
A color scheme of green and white was carried out in the decorations of the home and in the menu. The ceremony was performed by candle light with the green candles casting a mellow glow.
The bride was pretty in a frock of silk print and carried a bridal bouquet of mixed flowers.
Prominent Young People.
Both of these young people have lived in the Blairsburg community all of their lives, being graduated from the Blairsburg high school in 1929 and 1930. Since graduating the bride has taught in the rural schools of Hamilton and Wright counties. She also attended Iowa State Teachers college at Iowa Falls.
Mr. Robie has been employed on his father's farm, where the couple will live.
Following the ceremony a buffet wedding supper was served to the following guests. The Rev. and Mrs. C.C. Hobson, J.W. Bell, Helen, Carol, June and Robert Bell, the Rev. and Mrs. Everett Robie, of Clemons, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour McComb, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Robie, Millard and Donald Robie, Mrs. E. F. McComb and daughter, Kathryn, Earl Bailey and John Ferrell, Jr.
