A wedding of interest to Hamilton county people was that of Miss Miriam Lois Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Butler, of Boone, and Mr. John Bondhus, of Graettinger which was solemnized at 4 o'clock yesterday in Bethesda Lutheran church at Ames.
The Rev. A.W. Stalen officiated, using the single ring service.
The bride wore an ensemble suit of powder blue crepe, with white accessories and her attendant, Miss Evelyn Bechtel, of Dallas Center, wore a rose crepe suit. The bridegroom was attended by his nephew, Mr. John Helgeson, of Dolliver. Only a few of the immediate relatives of the couple were present.
Mrs. Bondhus grew up this [in] this community and was graduated from the Blairsburg high school and from the Webster City junior college, where she was a student of high rank. Later she completed her junior year at the University of Iowa. She taught in the Randall schools and for the past three years has been teaching in the schools of Paton. Wherever she has lived she has made a wide circle of warm friend[s] won by her sincerity and genuine interest in all the interests of her fellows.
Mr. Bondhus is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bondhus, of Graetinger, pioneer residents of that community, and is a young man who has earned the respect and affection of many friends for his genuine worth and honest character. He is a graduate of St. Olaf's college, Northfield, Minn., and has also attended the University of Iowa. For the past five years he has been the efficient principal and athletic coach in the high school of Randall to which position he will return this fall.
After the ceremony, the party went to the Memorial Union where a delicious dinner was enjoyed. The tables were decorated with cut flowers, asters and delphinium predominating and the wedding cake was an artistic and toothsome addition to the excellent menu.
Mr. and Mrs. Bondhus left at once on a several weeks motor trip to Denver, Akron, Esters Park and other points of interest in Colorado after which they plan to be at homed in Randall where they will be heartily welcomed by many friends.
